Frequently Asked Questions

Clarity begins with understanding.

Below are answers to some of the most common questions about coaching and how Anchored Coaching may support you or your family.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy often focuses on healing past experiences, managing mental illness, or exploring patterns that affect emotional wellbeing. Coaching is forward-focused. It helps you identify goals, build skills, and take meaningful action aligned with your values.

At Anchored Coaching, we do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. Instead, we partner with you to create structure, reduce overwhelm, and support intentional growth using evidence-based tools and a strengths-based approach.

What happens in a coaching session?

Coaching sessions are collaborative and guided by your goals. Each session begins with reflection, followed by focused conversation, skill-building, and strategy planning.

You will leave with greater awareness, practical tools, and a renewed sense of purpose. Some sessions may include visuals, assessments, or reflection exercises depending on your coaching plan.

Is coaching right for me or my child?

Coaching is a great fit if you or your child are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. It is especially helpful for:

- Parents seeking more connection and consistency at home

- Teens or college students struggling with follow-through or focus

- Adults navigating burnout, transitions, or performance stress

Coaching provides structure, insight, and a safe space to grow. It is not a substitute for therapy or clinical care, but it is a powerful tool for those ready to make intentional progress.

What is executive function coaching?

Executive function coaching helps you strengthen the mental skills that support organization, time management, emotional regulation, and task completion.

At Anchored Coaching, we use personalized strategies and practical tools to help clients increase awareness, build routines, and turn insight into action. Coaching is grounded in research and tailored to each person’s needs and learning style.

What is the Energy Leadership Index (ELI) assessment?

The ELI is a research-backed assessment that helps you understand how your energy, mindset, and stress response impact your relationships, leadership, and motivation.

It provides a powerful lens for teens, parents, and professionals to identify patterns and make conscious shifts in how they show up in life. A personalized debrief session follows the assessment to unpack your results and guide growth.

Do you work with teens or only adults?

We work with both. Coaching is available for:

- Teens who need support with school, routines, or emotional regulation

- College students navigating independence or motivation

- Parents who want to strengthen family dynamics or advocate effectively

- Adults managing work-life stress, ADHD, or leadership challenges

Coaching services are always tailored to the developmental stage, needs, and goals of the client.

Do you accept insurance or HSA/FSA?

Anchored Coaching is a non-medical service and does not bill insurance. However, some clients use HSA or FSA funds for coaching services. We recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm coverage.

Medical services, including diagnostic evaluations or medication management, are offered through Anchored Pediatric Mental Health, a separate licensed medical practice that may qualify for insurance reimbursement.

Can I work with you if I’m outside of Texas?

Yes. Coaching services are available virtually and open to clients across the United States and internationally.

If you are seeking medical or diagnostic care, that must be provided through Dr. Anguiano’s medical practice and is currently limited to patients in Texas.

How do I get started?

The first step is simple. Schedule a free Discovery Call to learn more about coaching and how we can support your goals. We will explore your needs and recommend a path forward that fits your family, your time, and your values.
